The University of West Georgia's Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), "Launch Your Career Through Experience," gives students access to research opportunities, internships, and career development starting in their very first semester.
Steppingblocks is built directly into that plan. In the QEP's First Year experiential learning timeline, alongside creating a Handshake profile, meeting with Career Services, and joining student organizations, students are asked to complete the Steppingblocks Career Assessment. It's positioned as one of the very first steps in a student's four-year career journey at UWG.
Steppingblocks also shows up under Career Services Support, where the Digital Career Coach is listed as an available, 24/7 resource alongside career coaching, resume review, interview prep, and the Career Closet.
By placing the Steppingblocks assessment in the first-year timeline rather than leaving it as an optional resource, UWG makes career exploration a first step in every student's journey, not something students discover only once they're closer to graduation.
