Career exploration and readiness initiatives begin right from the arrival of students on your campus. Whether students commence college in an exploratory phase or with a specific career goal in mind, providing robust support for their academic and career decisions, and fostering career readiness, are pivotal to ensuring their success beyond graduation. Digital Career Counselor can be used in a multitude of ways to support your first year students on your campus. See our top recommendations below!

  1. Encourage students to explore videos, infographics, and other resources related to majors or jobs they are interested in on the home page.

    1. Utilizing this feature will allow you to have guided conversations with your students about their interests. Do their career or job interests align with their goals? Or may it be beneficial to explore other career or job options?

  2. Encourage students to take the personality assessment to gain insight to how their personality aligns with certain majors and/or career options.

    1. The Personality Assessment within Digital Career Counselor will give students career and major options that could be great options for their personality type. This could be great for that student who hasn’t chosen a major yet and could use a starting point when it comes to majors to decide from!

  3. Have students explore top employers, job categories , and skills of real graduates of your university for majors they are interested in using the Outcomes Module.

    1. This module will give students insight into where their degree can lead them using real data from your university graduates. Students can explore who the top hiring companies are, what industries they are working in, and the skills they have. This data will support students in making decisions about their careers and curriculum while on campus!
